Integra 9.8 Preamp

Hello,
I am new to this forum and I'm actively seeking a preamp at this time. I do more HT vs music, maybe 70/30 but want to kickstart my craving for multihcannel music and hopefully later on LPs! I am also looking at the DYNAUDIO focus series with 220 as fronts and/or Gallo ref 3.1 floor standing speakers! Does anyone have this amp and how well does it perform with music?

So based on your knowledge of the this pre-amp, do you think it will pair up well the the dynaudio countours or gallos? I am also looking at outlawaudio amps. Unfortunately they're online only and its hard to audition them unless I buy it!

I doubt you would hear a difference from one SS amp from another within a price point.

Yes I think the Integra would be an excellent choice with whatever speaker you choose.

I just got the Integra 9.8 and so far I am extremely pleased. I cannot believe I went from a $4000 pre/pro (albeit an older one) to this unit and feel like I've moved noticably up in sound quality. I haven't had time to mess with 2ch direct modes yet but for movies the thing is really great. I'll be posting a review very soon.

So did you hear the Integra/Gallo combination after all?
I am very interested in the Integra 9.9 amplifier/Gallo AV reference combination, but unfortunately there is no dealer in my area that has both, and I do not own either...
If you audition it, I would appreciate if you can give me your impressions...

I have the Integra 9.8 using a Rotel amp and Dynaudio Focus 140's. Overall, it seems to be a fine combination. I'm not so sure about Integra's QC lately, as mine seems to be one Integra product that didn't work as advertised. In my case, the 9.8 would not recognize HD audio signals. Integra said that they were going to replace my unit with a new one but it's been almost a month since I took mine in and I haven't seen a replacement yet. I've been listening to my TV's internal speakers this whole time and I'm not pleased about that. I also have no idea when or if a replacement will arrive so I give Integra's customer service a failing grade for a supposedly premium product.

I need v1.05 firmware for this unit. I went to do an Audyssey Pro calibration on a unit just bought used by a friend and found it has 1.04. I have 1.08 to apply, but you can't go from 1.04 directly to 1.08 ... must go to 1.05 first. Onkyo has been zero help.
