does anyone know the actul high end fq rolloff is on the Rockford Fosgate P2D4-10

does it really only go up to 250hz

when i put this into Winisd the fq curve seemed to drop off around 1500hz at -3db

i need to know for sure as i plan to use in a 3 way floorstander build an i want to crossover at 500hz for the lows

according to winisd i can pump 220watts into it with it wired a 2 ohms

an get a very nice response

any thoughts or advice is welcome

thanks

The graphs out to 1khz do seem a bit odd, that's why I'd call Rockford Fosgate, doubt anyone here will have any details for you.

What are you looking to do?

Seriously, I have no life.
Why would you try to send 1500Hz to a subwoofer? 500 Hz is way too high for the LP filter- use it as it was designed- low end, not mid-bass.

i considered pro audio units but to fit my budget an audio prefs an my design

i settled on a pair of either the P2D4-10 for 250$ or the RSS265HO-44 for 330$ a bit more but isnt in stock right now

they have near identical performance with the specs in winisd

an i rather save some cash

but the conflicting data about the fq on the P2D4-10 being able to produce fq above 250hz to atleast 500hz has me hesitant both winisd an rocks own owners

manu pdf shows that the high rolloff at 1500hz

i dont want to roll the dice an blow the dough an not have the drive work as intended

because if it really can be used up to 1500hz tat would be great

an i know ther are other pro audio units out ther but most iv found are more costly then i want an the power i want pump in to them an get the fq responce i

want

doesnt work well in my design

primary either thers a large fq drop off on the low end or massive cone excursion pass the drives limit mostly both

using the loudspeakerdatabase i have found some pro audio units that work great an exactly as i want but are way outside my budget

please ignore the color scheme its just what i used in the cad program

the design is to my likeing an i do like the blue a bit

the concept it this

extunal dims are 9in deep 11.25in wide 48in tall

inturnal dims are 6in deep 10.5in wide 47in tall

air space with displacmet factored in is 1.668 ft3

with

one 10in bass driver feed 220watt an one 10in Passive Radiator

with two mids an two tweeters with each feed 40watts

iv got a custom xover being made

with these specs

a 3 way with 300 watts in at 4ohms

xover at 500hz / 3000hz

the spl read from winisd is at 12ft from the listening postion

my seating area is at 7ft to the center of the room

the lows at 12ft read a peak of 96db at 40hz to a 92db at the xover point

the mids at 12ft read a almost flat of 94db from xover point to point

the highs at 12ft read a almost flat of 94db from xover point to a rolloff at 90db

everthing goes up by 5db

thats pretty good atleast for me

the pink is the lows the blue the mids the greeen the highs

once its build an in the room ill run rew to see how ait really reads in my room

then ill post those readings

That's big project for sure. If you're designing your own speaker and not from a proven kit, its definitely a good idea to measure your drivers. Even top notch manufacturers have variances.

This is what you need
