Is it necessary to have exact values for the capacitors....I'm having a hard time trying to find 40microfard 100vdc cap. What seems to be common are 47microfard 100vdc

That is a little too far out of spec. This 43 mfd Solen will do the job nicely though.

Odd, but I see a couple spots on that page that say "47uF", then other areas say "43uF". Probably worth a call to PE before a purchase on that one, just to be sure.

If that is a problem use two 20 mfd in parallel.

What's up you guys. So I picked up a 47μF 100vdc cap to replace the bad cap on the crossover. It's seems a lot smaller then the original and it has polarity. I hope it works out and I'll install sometime next week. I'll keep you guys posted.

You need a non polarized cap in crossovers. You can not use that one. Use a polypropelene cap if possible. A non polarized electrolytic cap is second best.

The only way you can use a polarized cap is to use two of them of twice the value and connect them in series with either the two positives connected or the two negatives connected.

Picked a np 47μF cap and solder it in to the cross over. I will be powering it up very soon. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Ok so here's the update on the infinity primus 250s. The 47microFarad cap worked the speaker is back in working order. However it sounds a lot clearer and louder. I'm assuming it could be the newer cap. If you guys have any other reason why this is, feel free to chime in. Thanks
