Indecision... Should I go with the bookshelves or the towers?

Those Missions look nice. You could get by without a sub for most music with these. Please audition before buying these and make sure all drivers are working. When they are not playing, gently push on the woofers using two hands with fingers splayed (but NOT on the dust cap) to make sure you don't feel any grittiness in the movement. That's a sign of a damaged driver.

Where are you located if you don't mind me asking?
Thank you again for your advices.

As per seller the speakers are plugged for listening and told me « Satisfaction guaranteed or I'll gave you your money back!» I will find out tonight, I'm going to his place.

I live North shore of Montreal, Quebec.

Check out Athena speakers or if you get really lucky PSB at your price point.
One pair of PSB600 for sale nearby my place. Other PSB's available are all home audio sets.
One pair of Athena AS-F2 available, tagged make an offer. Another pair of Athena's without model number.

I'll go read some reviews for the PSB, thanks for your input.

EDIT : Seems that PSB 600 is very generic, anyone knows its exact model number? (pic attached)

There seems to be PSB Century 600i - not much info available, but they seem to be built using very budget material.

What about Tannoy Mercury MX3? Those are made in Taïwan, not UK

Just found a pair for sale at 250$ Cdn

Well, there is a huge amount of controversy about those speakers, that I dug up. One of the things that I noted, that was a red flag, is that pricing was all over the map.
There are no proper specs, let alone measurements, so I certainly would not advise the OP to buy those. Those Mission speakers would be a good buy but the link, links them to a UK site.
I agree with decision choosing the B&Ws over the Sinclairs. The Missions are even a better choice.

I own a pair of PSB 600 and have used them extensively. Mids, treble, and upper bass are good and they throw a deep detailed soundstage. Their weakness is bass below 50 Hz which is thin. You would need to augment them with a sub.. They are a smaller tower so you may have to angle them back a little to have the treble energy from the tweeters reaches ear height from your listening position.

The 600i were the next generation after the 600. I don't know what the upgrades were as the drivers look identical between the two models. The only difference outside was that they made the 600i bi-wireable.

Here are the specs for then entire PSB Century line up.

This is an older picture of the room. These are the 600, not the 600i but dimensions and drivers are identical at least from the outside.

Mission M34i are in the house!

I started with an indecision, then went completely the other way. Those speakers was under the ownership of a... Priest! They are in pristine condition, they look brand new, astonishing condition. Everything included in the original box was available with the speakers. Paid 250 $ Cdn for them, I really do think that price was very fair considering their excellent condition.

Thanks all for your inputs, it really helped the newbie that I am in audiophile home audio. Now lets debate about bi-wiring or not be-wiring!

Here are some pictures of my Holy speakers... They'll change their status, I'm kind into death metal listening! :p

Can wait listening to some Opeth on those speakers!
