OK, you guys are officially a bad ( or is it good ;) ) influence on me. After much reading and listening at local centers I have decided on a new sub to replace to budget Velodyne CHT12. To replace it I'll now be running a SVS SB-12, won't have it until Saturday and if things go well a little something to go along with it...........

....

OK, got this bad boy home today and hooked it up without any real calibration and with the audyssey setting's from my previous set up. I will just say this thing rocks pretty good for having such a small footprint. Tomorrow I'm picking up a db meter and rerunning audyssey and see how much better things become

Congrats on your new purchase. After a few days of living with it what are your thoughts? I'm torn between this and the PB-12plus. Not sure that I'll need the extra kick the PB would offer, and I like the fact that the SB is so small. What do you think? Do you at all regret not going bigger?

If you have the space I would get the plus it will give you much more output than SB...IMO of course.....

I second Jamie's vote for the PB12-Plus

I second Jamie's vote. I just got a New PB12-Plus in November and it is all I thought it would be and more. You can have it very subtle ( no way) or pretty intense ( yes :D +10 dB) But even so it is not boomy and the gunshots, explosion and earthquakes, etc. sound so surreal you won't believe you ears. The SB is very good , but the PB is outstanding!

Good Luck!

I love it, of course I've not listened to the PB+ so I cannot compare. I picked this one up locally of Audiogone and simply could not pass up the deal. The way I would see it is like this, you get the bigger sub and you can always turn down the gain/volume............ As for me I'm pretty pleased right now and have watched some movies and the windows were rattling and I could feel the bass. Something that never happened with my Velodyne CHT-12.
