If you are doing whole house audio, how many zones are you looking to have?
Are you using volume controls or some sort of control system?
What sort of budget are you on?
What is the listing of rooms you have?
Depending on the room, you may just want speakers that really are designed for 'background' music rather than top notch stuff because of poor acoustics in most rooms. But, a better speaker will deliver better results and should be considered for other areas as necessary.
If you just are going to use volume controls and psuh audio through a single amplifier, then I wouldn't spend to much cash on the speakers to go along with it.
