Finishing up my basement HT and would like some advice on in-wall speaker selection. The system would be used 75% for HT and 25% for music. Room size is 15x28x8. I have the following equipment:

Denon 4306 receiver
Mains – Boston Acoustics VR975
Center – Boston Acoustics VR920
Sub – Boston Acoustics PV800 (I will try out, may move to Hsu)

I would like to setup a 7.1 system with the side and rear surrounds. In wall will work best for my room. I have heard the Polk TC-625i and the Polk LC-65i. I liked them both but the LC-65i might be a little too high for my price range. I would like to hold the cost to $250 per speaker or $1000 for all four.

1. Would the Polk’s sound good with my Boston Acoustics?
2. Does the 4-ohm impedance of the LC-65i cause problems for the Denon 4306?
3. What other speaker manufactures and models do you recommend (Triad, Axiom, BA, etc) ? Thanks

Most major speaker brand, including Boston Acoustics, sell in-wall and in-ceiling speakers. Just Google the brand name and look around the site. Other brands I have seen include RBH, Infinity, Cambridge Soundworks, etc. I have not heard any in-wall or in-ceiling speakers so I can't endorse any.

Boston makes good in walls if you want to stay branded. The LC65s are also good inwalls, but may be overkill for surrounds, the tc's would suffice. This wouldnt hold as much for multi-ch audio but for ht. Same process for bostons dci vs vri.
