I'm considering in-wall speakers for a new addition. Spoke with my builder the other day and he indicated there may be code issues when installing in-wall speakers on an exterior wall. I live in upper midwest so lack of insulation is a potential issue along with vapor barrier. I understand that back boxx takes care of the vapor barrier issue.
Any thoughts?
If this is a true problem/issue, I guess I have the option of installing the speakers in the ceiling vs. wall but then I wonder how much I may be compromising sound quality. Currently considering Speakercraft AIM LCR 3 for all HT speakers and possibly NHT U-1 sub.
Thanks.
