Hi Friends,
I'm planning to set up a home theater with 9 channels. I've zeroed in the speakers B&W 300 series / B&W 600 Series / Martin Logan Motion Series 6.5 / Bose Virtually Invisible 891 and Klipsch 5502 for my front LCR. Could you suggest to me based on your experience which one would be a good choice, please?
Thanks in advance.

You should also consider Triad speakers. Their in-wall speakers are completely sealed.

Triad is a Portland-based company that hand builds speakers in just about every configuration you can imagine. They will even color match the speakers and grills to match the paint on your walls. In addition to InRoom speakers, Triad has In-Wall and angled InCeiling speakers and subwoofers that work amazingly well for spaces in which you have no floor space, or when you wish to hide the speakers from view. The company has speakers in many different price ranges, starting at $300 per speaker.

While not a household name, Triad is a favorite of custom installers and has won numerous industry awards. The company is also a prototype partner for Dolby, helping to design speaker systems for immersive audio. Most recently, Triad Gold Monitor speakers won Best of Show, at the 2019 CEDIA Expo in Denver.

I would be happy to help you design a system for your room. Let me know if we can help.

Dawn

Those are all very different sounding speakers so it's not really practical to just recommend one out of the bunch. For example, the Martin Logan uses a Folded Motion tweeter, the Bose a di-pole pair of tweeters and the Klipsch a horn loaded tweeter. Which of those you will prefer will be totally subjective. Ideally you need to hear and compare these brands to see which sound profile you like. The Triads mentioned above are excellent as well.

In my experience, if you aren't getting a speaker with a good sealed enclosure, then you won't hear a major difference between a $100 pair of Polk or Monoprice speakers compared to the $500 a pair B&W speakers. I replaced some $500 B&W's for a client with some Sonance speakers, and there was no question that the cheaper Sonance speakers sounded better.

I would bet that you would be hard pressed to tell the difference between $500+ speakers and these...

Get really good sealed back speakers or serious home theater in-walls, or don't waste money on a brand name that doesn't actually do anything but up the price on the already compromised in-wall experience.

Monoprice is pretty amazing with their pricing sometimes. $150 for a carbon fiber woofer and ribbon tweeter, and that's not per speaker but the pair. o_O

What are your criteria for choosing those particular brands....have you heard any installation of any of them?
