In wall or in ceiling

I want to upgrade to 7.1. I have the acoustech series and am interested in their in wall or in ceiling speaker. They will go in the ceiling. My question, Is there a difference in the in wall or in ceiling speakers and which do I want.
This may sound like a stupid question but I would just like to know the diff. The cost is the same but the speakers look diff. I like the rectangle look better than the round, thus this stupid question.
Part two I will then need a two channel amp to power my outside speakers in zone 2. Suggestions appreciated. Preferably inexpensive but decent. It will power to Yamaha 6 1/2 outdoor speakers.
Thanks once again
Steve

I would discourage you from in ceiling speakers if at all possible. That would be the last place for it.

Try in wall if you have to have it in one of those locations instead of wall mounted speakers. If you must have in ceiling you really need to try to listen to such a setup as remodeling is not fun.

Forgot about that amp. Check out the Behringer A500 at $180. Hard to beat.

thanks for the input. In ceiling would be an easier install. the left wall is an exterior wall and the roof slopes down to about 4 or 5 inches where I need to run the wire. Why is everybody down on in ceiling? Do they sound bad or just harder in install?
I forgot about the A500 Thanks

I agree that ceiling speakers aren't the ideal location, but, when the listening position is at the back wall of the room, they're the only choice. My ceiling speakers are the leftover surrounds from my previous system, and actually work quite well for the back surrounds in my new system, IMHO.

Not the install. In many cases it might be easy. But, depending on speaker, the sound will seem to come from the ceiling more than from the back space.
Have you listened to music on an intercom speaker setup in the ceiling?
You may like it or could live with it; that is why I suggested listening to such a setup if you can. You install and don't like it, then you have a headache of fixing that hole and redoing it.
