in need of a remote

Found a Yamaha HTR-5890 at a garage sale for $8.00...yes $8.00 but here's the kicker...the guy whom I bought it from could not find the remote and so I was wondering if anyone has one laying around. Yes I know you can get a knock off remote but was in need of the original one. Any help would be appreciated

Not hard to find factory remotes on ebay.

The remote will likely cost you more than the avr, tho. Unless someone just happens to read this and have one and feel charitable simultaneously OTOH a universal remote may be another option (and useful in a variety of gear in the future).

Ha! Yeah, I just looked a bit and the RAV350 remote (original) is like $40 online.

If you can setup the receiver, then a cheap sub $10 remote can work it just fine. Most of the older receivers allowed for full setup from the front panel. It was just a bit painful to do. Still, if there is no on-screen-display, than it was just as painful even with the remote for setup.
