Garage speakers

Yes a seperate amp for the garage speakers is one solution.
Another option is the impedance matching speaker selector or volume controls for each room.

With your previously sugested connection method, the receiver would see (8||8) || main speakers = 2.6 ohms or less depending on the impedance of the main speakers.

I Like The Volume Control Set-up....i Would Like Them To Be At Differant Levels When Played At The Same Time Anyhow:d

So All I Would Have To Do Is Runn The Exterior Speakers Throught This Thing And All Would Be Well?

Yes you could connect the Impdance Matching VCs or speaker selector between the Garage and outdoor speaker and the receiver. You could use a single VC for the garage and another one for the patio. I would recommend the VCs even if you end up getting a seperate amp for the house speakers.

What Would It Take To Run 4 Of The Inside Speakers On The A Channel
And The Two Said Ceiling Speakers On The B Channel?

Is That Possible.... How Would It Be Wired?

Moose,
The A and B on your receiver are not seperate channels, it is just an extra set of binding posts with a switch.

If you use the IMVCs in each room, that you could connect the garage speakers directly to the A (or B) channels and the in-ceilings to the other channel. If you don't want VCs, then you still need the imedance matching feature, so you could connect the Receiver A/B channels to the speaker selector and then to the garage and other speakers.

Proper (and best) setup:

Get a separate amplifier.

Connect your tape output (recording output) from the receiver to this amplifer. It doesn't have to be a great one, but it will ensure that you are taking the load off the receiver and putting it on the speakers you are using outside.

Run it from the amplifier output, to a volume control in your garage.

Then run from the volume control to your speakers.

When you want to use speakers in your main room - do so as you normally would, just turn on the receiver, and use your system.

When you want the speakers on in the garage, turn the amplifier on, or turn the volume up on the volume control outside, with the receiver on.

Always remember, if you aren't using a receiver with a true 'zone 2' output, you will be listening to the same thing in both areas as you only have one single 'zone' of audio.

Don't mess around with trying to connect a bunch of speakers to the amplifier inside the receiver as this is a sure fire way to end up needing to buy a new receiver.

An amplifier like this will do the trick nicely: http://cgi.ebay.com/AudioSource-2-Channel-100-Watt-Power-Amplifier-AMP-100_W0QQitemZ110226071918QQihZ001QQcategoryZ14973QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
