Impedance switch

<font color='#000000'>I read the technical funtion of the impedance switch on this site. I have an old Yamaha RX-V3000 receiver. The receiver have plenty of ventilation. The rear speakers and front center are 4 and 6 ohms. Is safe to leave the switch at 8 ohms possition or Yamaha quality is so bad that I must set the switch at 4 ohms?

<font color='#0000FF'>Leave my switch at 8 ohm with my AZ-1 witout any problems. I use 6ohms Yamaha speakers as well as4ohms Cantons and have noticed no heat build up rather than what is normal.</font>

<font color='#008080'>I have this receiver and woudl recommend keeping the switch set to 8-ohms unless you play music at 100+dB all day long...

<font color='#0000FF'>For 100+ decibels, a Rat Shack fan on top the the receiver does a really nice job.
