Does any one have any information/ reviews about the Image Concept 200 speaker made by API in Canada a while ago?

Yes very nice speakers , '89 vintage , Sterophile class C . I had them in my place tonight , I really liked them , they go very low but sound really balanced . My buddy just snagged a pair on CAM if those were the ones you were asking about ? Big heavy suckers but I could have stayed up all night listening to them . But they need a amp , not a receiver to power them , something with current . Only drawback is replacement drivers as the tweeters are easy to blow . when I saw them for sale local I told buddy to run and buy them as I heard them in a showroom years ago and was very impressed , if you have the space for them , grab a set .

excellent speakers

My friend has the Concept 200s and I used to have the Concept 100 bookshelves. I bought them in 1990. I believe they had the same hyperdome tweeter as the Energy 22s, along with stitched woofers, same as the 22s but smaller. I think Ian Paisley of API designed these.

My best friend has my Concept 100s now. I recall one night we were playing music with some low bass and he could not believe how much bass was coming out of these small bookshelves which had 5.5 inch woofers if I recall. My friend's Concept 200s, which I last heard about 10 years ago, had even deeper bass because they each had two 5.5 inch woofers.

My Concept 100s were also heavy as hell for their size and made a real deep THWACK sound when you knocked on the cabinet.

Weight

Hi guys,

I have the Image Concept 200s too and absolutely love 'em.

Does anyone know a published weight (lbs/kgs) for them (per unit). I have no literature on them and they sort of just pre-date the internet. I'm buying some decouplers for them and I want to make sure they're not too heavy.

I have the image concept 200's and they are definitly one of the better speakers that I have owned or heard.

I drive them with a big David Hafler amp and they sound amazing.

In my opinion, you cannot do wrong wigh these giants
