While the guy makes some decent points, all I read was a whiner who would rather point out problems as opposed to coming up with solutions. It's easy to point out everything that's wrong in the world, but it takes a real innovator to come up with a solution and try to actually fix one of the problems. Mind you, this description works for about 90% of the politicians out there, so I guess we're all screwed anyway...
While the old guy is a complainer; as least he's aware of problems, (that's the 1st step) and seems to understand cause / effect.
He sounds like he doesn't fall for the Red herring distractions that the lapdog media throws at us.
Divide and Conquer - the oldest trick in politics.:)

It may seem like whining but it's a start. It needs to be a group effort, though. Can't have the government doing it all by themselves, can we? All kinds of solutions are being offered but they have to be acceptable to the people who have to pay for them, right?

The entire letter was simply a vent. Seriously, take it as such. Whether or not you agree with it completely or in part is of no consequence. The points made deserve to be aired and listened to.

I'm tired of people being a jackass and not taking time to actually think of what is being said.
