We don't either? I never thought why myself. Maybe because the sound quality has something to do with it? Eye opening thought though.

I only have about 600 Cd's, and I don't have any either. We have the Lilo and Stitch soundtrack and that has Elvis on it, does that count?

I'm of the opinion that this situation must be remedied soon.

Personally I don't see the problem.

Now, if you didn't own any Beatles or Stones...

I actually own the entire catalogs of both.

Interesting that you bring this up. My buddy says their 2 types of people - Elvis people and Beatles people. It is almost always the case that someone has a strong preference for one or the other, but very few in the 'middle' camp. Wild considering they both had their beginnings in the exact same genre of rock n roll.

Did you get the Mono Remasters? Awesome!

I suppose I was born too late for Elvis to really have an impact on me. By the time I was old enough to actually notice who was on the TV, he was already Fat Elvis™ ...

I'm impressed with the remasters, though I must concede that a few of the stereo reworkings are a bit strident for my tastes. I have an unatural bias towards pitchiness and given that my system is extremely detailed to begin with, it kind of works against me. The monos are dead on, almost analog like.

I think I may be one of the few people on this planet who hate the beatles and the stones. Only bands where when people cover their songs they do it better. That's a bad thing for them. It's not like when Fred Durst covered Faith and Behind Blue Eyes, obviously those were worse...

I don't know, I just can't listen to either band in a sitting, and if it comes on the radio I switch it. They're just not my thing. Niether is Elvis really, and you'd think it'd be because I don't like older music, but that's not true, because I do.

Yea, I'm with you on the really old Stones stuff, though I don't mind "England's Newest Hit Makers" and "Let it Bleed", for some odd reason. I generally prefer their records from the 70's.

There are a few stones songs I like, but it doesn't really make me like them as a band. Whenever my dad popped in a CD, all I could think was that every single song sounded exactly the same, just with different lyrics. Kind of like Metallica from their early era. I call it "E Chord Patented"

I feel exactly the same way about The Stones, Metallica and Oasis

8600 CD's, and I own no Elvis.

DJ
Thank God. I've been subjected to him since before I was born and if I never see or hear another Elvis or imitator, it will be about 3 lives too soon. 8600 CDs and no Elvis sounds almost as right as 20,000 CDs and no Elvis.

I have over 800 cd's and I
DON'T have any Beatles or Stones. They're WAY TOO OVERPLAYED
here on the classic rock stations here in Chicago.

i won't listen to the beatles or the stones for religious reasons, but they are deffenitly way over-rated, ESPECIALLY the stones, their music is just terrible, and i agree with the whole repeating the same song over and over.

I'm Catholic and like the Stones. Listen to "Let it Loose", no "devil lyrics", etc. It is easily the best song they ever put to acetate. No radio station ever got a hold of it.

I used to think the Stones were over rated. Everything from Their Satanic Majesties Request to Some Girls, is nothing short of excellence.

As for the Beatles, I won't even begin to either point out the inaccuracies or point out the influences.

Different musical tastes are what make all this interesting, but at 62 I find I enjoy Elvis, the Stones and Beatles at different times.

Depending on what mood I'm in.

As far as whether their boring or not, I'll let the number of LP's/CD's sold speak for itself, YOU may find them boring, but millions don't.

You want boring...try Rap...imho

OK, situation remedied. I now own just about everything Elvis has ever done, with the exception of some of his movie hits. I now feel like a wrong has been righted, even though I haven't really listened to the discs all that much. You just can't deny the influence he had on popular music.
