i'm in a really bad spot regarding subwoofer, perhaps one of these is a breath of fresh air

what about eletrical tape, jdnsajd oarf
I think Mark covered your question pretty well, and I do agree. If air leaks out through that separation it's going to affect performance. Like said, some clamps and some glue might fix it right up.

Uhh... no. Lol. Could try filling it in with caulk or silicone tho. It may not even be enough to cause a leak. Just make sure you inspect it and make sure it works before you hand your money over. Normally I'd tell you to keep looking but I know your situation doesn't leave you with many choices. Plus 80 bucks isn't too bad so...

That’s true could be an easy fix . I’ve also seen that era of and a couple lines of jbl’s in that time frame of production have trouble with the cabs separating at the joints and the veneer coming loose at the corners it’s not a common flaw but it happens .

If it's blown wide open and you can see inside the cab I would pass tho. If it's just the veneer it wouldn't be too bad.

From the pic he put up its hard to tell how far it’s opened up but there is also a little discoloration it’s seems beside the corner joint really hope it’s not been in water too . If he’s got clamps and good glue it could be a easy fix . I like the cabs that use miter lock corners on there build they don’t come apart .

technically, as long as the seller says it's perfectly working, i'm protected for 10 days by buyer's protection

if i'm seeing the same as you, it's look mroe like a stain, or just dirt
I hope so....but I'd sure rather inspect first. Don't know about definition of working perfectly if the driver and amp function :)

Take a very close look at the first pic of this sub the whole bottom corner appears to be busted worse towards the front of the cab on the bottom I’d pass on this one .

well, in that case, which one is the best second,
and if hipothetically that sub was no good, i wasn't being able to get a hold of the seller, but finally was able to, he said he couldn't just yet sell it, cause he himself was not able to make it work, apparently he buys stuff in bulk, as working, but totally trust based, so even if the guy he bought from said it was good, he left with a friend, so he could test it. He doesn't seem to have that much experience with audio equipment, so the sub might just be good, but i don't haev the answer just yet, which one is the best option

If I was you I’d check eBay there’s tons of subs on there I don’t know where your located but in a pinch I’d give that a try .

There's no such a thing as ebay, well, there is, importing goods from abroad, at 40 - 80 dollar shipping tax

This is more or less my situation

Flooded with bare drivers, half of them from a professional store, cause automotive audio is the only thing that moves big drivers here in brazil, no one has a HT any more

Or perhaps diy with one of the "car" sub drivers with an appropriate box and amp, but that can get expensive too.

You may have to bite the bullet and order a new one .
in that case, i'm going subless for a while, don't got the moey for a new one
if anything. something more expensive than that is out of the question, cause that would go for the pc, i've been saving up for the last 4 years

Maybe you should stop paying contractors to mow gramps' lawn... :p

Keep looking. If you find something interesting give us a poke and we'll try to help you find something halfway decent.
