I'm assuming you mean apart from each other? If you gave us a schematic of the floor plan with the lp and existing 5.1 layout, it would be a help.

Depending on the width of the lp (that is, one person, two people, etc.), the room size, and depending on the speaker size, I would start with the simple rule of a couple of feet behind, a foot to a foot and a half above, and two to three feet to either side of the ear. Then adjust accordingly to find the ideal location for your particular layout (with a good es track like Gladiator). Cheers.

sorry for not putting in more info.it's mainly 1 person in the sweet spot sometimes 2.my fronts are about 7 feet apart,i have about 8 feet behind the listening position.and yes i was trying to figure out how far apart from each other they should be.my side surrounds are maybe a foot behind and mounted next to the ceiling angled down where the sound should cross behind the listening position.(hope that made sense)thanks for the help.

Still no back wall width. But, about 6ft apart in the back and not too close to the side walls.
