if you can afford the upgrade to the qs4's and still keep the dvd player then awesome,

i think we were just tryin to keep your budget down. The speakers are more important than the dvd player at this point.

aside from your receiver and speakers, have u ever consider buy a projector? from the looks of ur house it seems like u can leave the tv where it is for regular use and have a projector screen over it from movie watching. that way, u have a giant screen that has wife approval. Make sure to get a sceen with a remote!

The projector idea is one I had not considered and it's not a bad idea! Put a retractable screen in the ceiling. I will have to put some serious thought into that for down the road. Thanks!

You might also consider several of the speaker options that Ascend Acoutics offers which would work great in your application. I found that they match more seamlessly across channels than do the Axioms. Also if you are interested in SACD music you'll lose that by going with the Oppo unit, the 1920 offers that feature. If not, then the Oppo might be the better choice.

what about 3 inwall speakers for the front and center? do a little construction and stick them right into the white area underneath the tv.
