How does that compare with the SMS now that it is under 400 bucks?

From what I have read, the 8033 is more accurate than using the SMS in automatic mode. I am not personally familiar with SMS so other than that, I cannot comment.

Antimode 8033 beats SMS-1 hands down. The word is all over the web, but I've also seen and heard it myself now. Everybody's saying they got smoother results and tighter bass with antimode, even Stereophile columnist Kalman Rubinson recommended 8033 over SMS-1 here:

http://www.hometheatershack.com/forums/bfd-forum/16577-velodyne-sms-1-antimode-8033-a.html

And compared to SMS-1 for $399, you still get 8033 for lower price delivered.

3 guys briefly talking about it doesn't tell me much.

Do we care about decay times if we run Audessy after the sub cal?

Yes, because 8033 does it better. Check out 8033 "main thread" with hundreds of reviews:

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1028464&page=25

Audyssey MultEQ XT has more mixed reviews, about 50/50. It is decent for the bass, but not as good as 8033 for sub, which seems to be getting positive reviews about 99%. The Audyssey is handy if you run large mains with low cross-over frequency, because 8033 is sub-only. I've had mine for about a year now, and in my setup 8033 was also the major improvement compared to my new pre-pro with Audyssey MultEQ XT, but I do have worse than average room.

I heard (felt) the PB -12 Ultra and decided I wanted it. So I cut up the shipping box and made my DIY Gramma... Here is how it turned out.

And here is an older view from before I changed the box from Rosenut to Piano Gloss Black.

What does a gamma do for you?
It helps with floor/couch vibration and pictures vibrating off the wall lol and I heard that your bass wont be as boomy and more solid although I haven't experienced that just the couch vibrating and things vibrating on my fireplace mantle :D Were it would help the most for vibration is if your not a concrete slab foundation I imagine .
