If you could only have one MC207 or MX134?

For now .....My goal has always been to own a Mac setup and I have a line on a used MC207 & MC134.

Problem is that I do not have the cash for both. I have a Yamaha rxv-2500 and was thinking of using the preamp on that to the MC207?

I also have an older rotel 5 channel amp that I could run the mx134 through.

I think I want t buy the amp now and add the preamp later - does that makes sense? Plyus I do think the yamaha s pretty darn good for the $......

So would you say that there is more of a difference in owning a quality than amps than a fancy preamp? I have always been under the belief that the large iron on the macs or any high end amp is much more benifical than any incremental improvements of a pre amp...... but could be wrong.

If you want a vintage pre from Mac look at something along the lines of the early "C" series.
