The early adopters take the arrows! :D Thanks for paving the way for the rest of us ;)
You're so right! I let my guard down once... That's why I'm sticking with 8-track tapes.:D
It's my wife's fault, that's right... it's her fault.

At the time it sounded like 1080p was far down the road. It was called the "Holy Grail" of plasma.

You can pick up a PS3 for about $300 from www.overstockdealz.com I got my second one from them and so far it's been perfect, came packed just like it was brand new.
When I sold the PS3 last year (man, it seemed like a long time ago!), my daughter was 5 yrs old. I let her play a PS2 game that I thought was simple (Pacman Kartrace?). But it turned out that she was not interested at all. That's probably the other reason I sold it.

Now if my daughter were to ask me today, "Daddy, could you please buy me a PS3?", I would order the PS3 in a heartbeat!:D

Attention Brian: Do not use that turntable on ANY vinyl that you VALUE. Not even once. I just realized that turntable has a non-angled cartridge mount in respect to the arm. This means the needle is at a considerable tracking error in any case, causing substantial damage to your records. In addition, this must(there is no option) cause substantial distortion. This player was designed specifically for scratch DJs - where no concern for the record being played is present. Please sell this immediately(preferably to a scratch DJ) and do not use it again unless you wish to cause damage to the vinyl.

I'm still very much into the 800's, but we're there's about $15-$20K difference in the setup I think. I think the Monitor Audiio's would be the next step. Plus they are just a beautiful speaker. I have to listen to them of cource, but they're on the wish list. My next speakers have to have some character. I don't want another set of rectangular boxes in my room. I want to see the speaker, but I want it to be a quality piece that's just as nice as nice furniture. Both the B&W and the MA's fit that bill I think. With the 7002's in the room it looks like a scene out of 2001!

I love them, don't get me wrong, but i want my next speakers to be something really special.

What happened to B&W 802Ds?

Have you gotten a chance to listen to them yet?

Save the money and go for the ultimate!:D

BTW, I noticed that Monitor Audio did not give a tolerance to the frequency response of that PL300 speaker (28 Hz - 100 kHz +/- ?? dB). For all we know it could be 58 Hz - 20 kHz +/- 3dB!

I don't know the Plat's pricing, nor everything involved in your $15-20k quote, but if I ever wanted 802Ds, I'd for sure get them used. If you are freaked out on buying used, I would just then wait until someone is close enough so you can pick them up in person. Here's one ad for example asking $8.8k. There's usually a pair for sale on the ads, unlike with some other models:
