Identical DACs, identical sound?

so could you tell me if there is a difference in quality of sound, when listening to audio cd's using a dvd player, as compared to using a cd player?? as i have been lead to believe that dvd players are not as good as cd players, if not why is this??

No reason a DVD player should reproduce CD differently. Dacs are cheap and not rocket science.
You should remember that audio is not exempt from bs, voodoo, myth, snake oil claims, etc.
