Thanks guys for putting up with losers like myself.

I can't speak for the others, but in my case - it takes one to know one. The some total of things that I don't know or understand is staggering.

I've never added fans into my entertainment centers, and my electronics seem to work just fine. That's not to say that they wouldn't benefit from some extra cooling, but I don't think that they need it. If I wanted them to last 20 years, I might go that extra mile...but I know that I'll be wanting something newer before then.

Seems to me it would be easy to add a finned, aluminum heat sink to the top of what ever processor is getting too hot. They are readily available and with a little heat transfer paste...
