I want to build 2 subs. Have some questions for you.

when chris said 6-7" he meant if the driver was pointing to the rear wall (distance of the driver outside the enclosure to the room wall). i think the rear of the driver inside the enclosure can be much smaller - a few inches will do in distance to the rear enclosure wall
Oh! That's even better. I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel :D

i edited my post to say PORT instead of driver in the first sentence, but still has the same meaning. he was talking about the outside :) the inside shouldn't matter much. good luck with your project! (and with the wife)

Hmmmmm seems to me, that 1 ported in that size room would be SICK powerful bass.... Otherwise -- 2 sealed would be damn impressive and room gain would add more then plenty to hit hard and low...

At 1100 cu ft, you will have more then impressive output with that ported design, how about making it into an end table, the beauty of DIY is you can disguise it as anything you want and you still win in the end with monstrous output in the package you choose... :)

Ok, it makes sense, the inside pressurizes and the ports vents.
I have to place the subs next to the wall, but as the port can be at the side, top or front, there's no problem. The driver's face needs 3", if I choose to put the driver facing down there's no big deal here.

With these smaller units do you think I should still use 3/4" plywood?
