I think I have my First "Real" Speakers picked out

I have been doing my research for a while, including some previous posts in this forum, and did a lot of listening to people’s opinions as well as speakers. From all of that I came up with these guys as strong contenders.

The speaker system goes like this:

Towers - Paradigm Monitor 7
Center - Paradigm CC 190 (thinking about the CC290 due to 15’ seating distance)
Rear - Paradigm ADP 190
Sub - Paradigm DSP3100 (considering the DSP 3200 for some added boom to the room)

What is the consensus on this set up, should I be taking the larger center channel and sub since the room is large? For the Amp/Receiver I was going with the Onkyo 606, will that be enough power? Should I be considering a much more expensive amp like the Denon AVR2807 for these speakers?

I'm not a fan of the Monitor series from Paradigm. (I have not heard the new Monitor series. I hope they are better then the old Monitor series)

IMO I would rather have these mains then the Monitor series Paradigms

Many like Paradigm some do not. Do not scrimp on the center channel or you may rue it later. Also, consider a subwoofer by a sub company. Good speaker manufacturers are not generally good sub makers. If you know someone that has a SVS, Outlaw, HSU, etc... give it a listen. Those 1000 watt small subs just don't hold a candle to the larger enclosure SVS especially in spacious listening rooms. Agreed, the center should be the equal of your left and right channels.

I prefer 3 identical speakers across the front if not all 5 if possible. (but that's me)

Same speakers all the way around is "Ideal" for HT, and Multi-Channel audio. But it's not always possible.

That's for sure. Wall mouted or inwall/ceiling speakers are the only option for alot of set-ups.

I really think that your L/R&C should be equally capable even if they are not identical. That's the point that I wanted to get across.

Monitor series speaker are alright, but not great IMO. The Studio series, while more costly, adds a lot of value.
