I need a new scam--- is it power cords?

I collected my mail today, found a audiophile catalog. On page 5, they are pushing AC cables. The best of them cost $3,500 for a six footer. Now, I ask, just what can a power cable actually DO? Granted, from nuke power plant to my house, between step-ups, step-downs, confusing poles full of raggedy wires, my 60 hz AC probably has gotten somewhat messy and, for the sake of argument, let's assume that the "dirt" will effect my sound quality.

The question is, however, just WHAT would a CABLE do to fix that? Is there something in a real expensive piece of wire that would restore my electricity to pure, sine wave 60 hz AC or, would it just very accurately transmit the messy AC from wall to amplifier? This stuff just doesn't make sense unless I can get a clean wire all the way from the power plant, or, better still, make my own AC.

The thing I like about this wire scam is that I wouldn't feel bad about doing it. After all, it's not like scamming seniors out of their social security checks. What it IS, is scamming willing believers who already have enough disposable income to buy 3 thousand dollar wires out of money they were going to spend anyway. Since this stuff is largely voodoo anyway, would they NOT use cognitive dissonance to tell themselves that a 5K$ wire made by me from recycled bob-wire purified their AC?

I think people miss out on properly cryogenically sealed power cables which are maintained in a sub-zero atmosphere until they reach your home. At which point, they are removed and connected to the equipment immediately and only brought above the freezing point once connected to the equipment to which they will be permanently attached to ensuring a bonding process unlike any other on the market.

The use of sub-zero power cabling is a guaranteed way to get the most out of power cabling to all of your devices and no other cable on the market can deliver higher quality from the products you are using. The unique characteristics of this cable are only a part of what ensures that you get a sound quality and presence that is best in the industry.

Well since the vendor believes in all the product they sale you should have no problem with their unconditional money back return policy... right?

I prefer the liquid nitrogen soaked cables. You must wear gloves, use tongs and have lots of padding to prevent shattering, but audio nirvana awaits.

Wouldn't it be even better if I were to soak my ears (or whole head) in the liquid nitrogen?

I was thinking that if my recycled bob-wire cables were marinated in baby tears, they could advertise that the cables imparted innocence to the music. I could even get charitable and offer the babies part of the profits as a start-up for their college fund. Profit for me, education for the next generation.

You guys are ridiculous with your Sub-Zero environments and Liquid Nitrogen-bathed power cords.

Everyone knows that the two most important measurements of any good power cord are chocolateness and danceability!

Yeesh.

BABY TEARS!

That's brilliant! When do the scocks go on sale? I want to be on the ground floor for this one. We could start a whole new line of Baby Tears products. Imagine what Baby Tears Speakers would sound like mated with Baby Tears amps and Baby Tears TT's. All connected with your Baby Tears cables and power cords.

Note to self: What happens if you freaze Baby Tears cables with liquid nitrogen?

I don't own my soul to use it as payment. It's on lease.

If you cable cook a previously cryogenically treated cable, or cryogenically treat a previously cooked cable do the processes cancel each other out leaving you with a stock/factory cable?

Invest in a power conditioner
What good is a plain ol conditioner without a $4k cable attached to it?
my power conditioner has capacitors made from the ground up bones of giant pandas and all the internal wiring is pure gold melted down from Mr. T's chains.
