I need a new receiver, maybe... (with short story)

Sooo back in May, I came to this forum wondering if I had purchased the "wrong" receiver. Long story short, nearly all of the initial replies said my receiver was fine, but that my subwoofer needed a good kick in the butt. Anyways, if you're interested in the post that leads up to this post, go here: http://forums.audioholics.com/forums/threads/uh-oh-did-i-just-buy-the-wrong-receiver.94718/ All I have to say is thank you for helping me see the error of my ways! Read on...

Today I'm a changed man. And a little poorer thanks to all the recommendations that were made. Lord knows I'm not complaining though! :) I purchased a Power Sound Audio V1500 and never looked back. That thing was an absolute monster, or so I thought. It really performs like a sealed sub. Plus the service from Tom is stellar. Less than a month into my purchase, I was contemplating buying a second V1500, but then I caught eye of the new V3600i. And I bought one instead! Then a month later, I bought a second V3600i. Yeah. They are THAT good. My theater never sounded so good.

But all good things have to come to an end. My wife was generous enough to let me stage our living room as a theater for a couple of months. The V3600i's were the star attractions. But I had to rearrange the living room back to normal and move the subwoofers into my loft. Some of the speakers and receiver stayed in the living room because they are generally small, but not the subs :(

Now in my loft, I'm using Klipsch RF-62 ii floor-standing front speakers and two V3600i's. While the speakers are fantastic, the subs very quickly overpower. I was emailing back and forth with Tom, and I decided to give the MTM-210's a try to replace my Klipsch fronts. Right now I'm using a simple Onkyo CR-325 receiver, and it's okay, but there's no control over anything. I have 3 settings for bass/treble control. Forget cross overs. Surprisingly it has a sub pre-out, but that's about it.

What do you guys recommend for a general AVR unit? In my loft the speakers and subs are connected to my PC as 2.1/2.2 with no plans for surround. Generally for music and some gaming. I'd like the device to have posts instead of springs, an optical or USB input (basically a DAC), and definitely one or two subwoofer pre-outs. I only need one input really. I'm thinking a DAC/AMP combo would be best, but my expertise is limited. Luckily I can stretch my budget up to $500 but I would rather stay between $50 to $100. There's always the default option: stick with what I've got.

Fire away! Thanks for your help beforehand! And for taking the time to read through my post.
