It was a dent in a dust cap....

If I wasnt so picky, I could have left it as it does nothing.

Plus, I think I did it unloading them from my car by myself. I didnt know they were that heavy until I had one lifted out the back already.
Let me guess. You bought the speakers. Got home. Got so excited. Got some beers. Drank some beers. Then unloaded the speakers?

When will you ever learn that alcohol does not mix well with receivers & speakers?:D

I say it mixes very well, I love to crank the piss out of my BP7001SCs when I drink, or even when I don't drink... they love to play loud!

I understand if I lose my NINJA status over this but I just want to be honest. After a few too many drinks last night, I got all crazy and bi-wired my speakers. I mean, the extra set of binding posts where just there and looked lonely and I had wire in the closet. I just couldn't keep from doing it, please forgive me!

GLS Audio Gen2 locking bananas! How do you like them? I had bought a couple to try out and now I have them on both my setups.

I play mine around 85 - 90 dB on the Galaxy SPL digital meter, but my wife and kids think it's too loud.

How loud do you listen?

I actually dont like them. They look good but I find them difficult to work. BJC has better ones.

I can confirm that.

My BJC locking bananas are so easy to work with - easy to "lock" and easy to "unlock".

BJC is so awesome. Why you could even take their speaker wires and fancy braid them to look even cooler.

One time, I ordered a few too many locking bananas. So I called BJC to cancel. They had already shipped out the bananas, so they just credit me the sale and gave me the bananas for free anyway.:D

I hit 100 quite a bit...
Wow. Even when you're not drinking?

Okay, I'm assuming that's in dB C-weighted, which measures even the low frequency. But what about dB A-weighted, which only measures (I think) from 1 kHz - 20 kHz?

I think we're not suppose to listen > 90 dB-A for more than 2 hrs straight.

I have to seriously question your sub or your settings if you cant tell any difference.
Excuse Me? :D Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hold the phone! :D My settings are in question! :D

Say what you will about my sub but my settings are off limits pal. :D

Obviously I'm kidding but I like being tough on the net. :)

Actually, it's my Denon 1920 DVD player that has Pure Direct. In that mode, it stops doing everything but audio so that you don't get any 'noise' in your signal. Then the signal goes to the rec'r to get crossed and then amplified.

I don't break out the SPL meter for regular listening, but I guess I could just for the heck out it, but I to tend to listen quite loudly.

Better be safe than sorry!

We want to enjoy this hobby for a long, long time!

When I say 90 dB, I mean 90 dB-C.

But I don't even go above 85 dB-A.

I think they say it's "safe" @ 85 dB-A for 8 hrs and @ 90 dB-A for only 2-4 hrs. So I play it safe @ 85 dB-A Max, which comes out to be 90 dB-C, which by the way is the standard reference level.

When I have it up really loud I'm not normally just sitting there listening to music, I'm around the house doing stuff, so I'm not constantly exposed to the loud music, but it's nice to know I can go louder than I'm comfortable listening to and my speakers can take it, and that I have enough power to do that safely.

Greg, I think that every audioholic died a little bit inside yesterday. Why, man? Why?!

Just kidding, of course. I've read about bi-wiring and bi-amping here. I've had Ron at SVS tell me that bi-amping the MTS-01s likely wouldn't make any difference (back when I was looking into getting some). All of that said, I know that I'll try it as soon as I own speakers that will let me. :)

It's so chocolatey. Yet, so ethereal. Oh, the angels...can you hear them singing? It's just so beautiful, I can't hold back the tears...

[As for drinking and cranking up the system, I don't do it mostly because I don't want to hurt my dog's ears.]

He won't care if you feed him a couple of drinks before hand. I can just picture the two of ya getting plowed and dancing. :D

That might just work. I'd have to find some peanut-flavored liquor, first. She doesn't like beer. As for "dancing," it would probably be more of an interspecies death match over the last piece of pizza.

As easy going as she is, she'd probably let me do that. On the other hand, she'd leave me in a second if I ever tried to bi-wire my speakers. :)
