I understand if I lose my NINJA status over this but I just want to be honest. After a few too many drinks last night, I got all crazy and bi-wired my speakers. I mean, the extra set of binding posts where just there and looked lonely and I had wire in the closet. I just couldn't keep from doing it, please forgive me!

That's what you do when you're drunk? Isn't it more fun to drunk dial your friends or surf the web for porn? :D

So how did it sound, and did you stay away from the Pure Direct button?

Oh, now that I bumped up to the 100's I am in PD most of the time.

I have to say, the highs are outstanding, the mid range is clear and smooth and the lows are tight and dig deep.

Oh wait...that is exactly how it was before....

No, I think the Studio 100s can handle the Pure Direct button.

Do it, Greg! Do it!:D

In that case, crank that mutha up then! I love how my BP8s sound when using pure direct, they sound much better in my bedroom than they ever did in my living room, which is more proof to me that the room makes a huge difference in how a speaker sounds. In the living room they were good, but nearly as impressive as they are now.

Oh, I agree. My room is the number one issue now. I will, at some point, have another dedicated HT room. A 8000 cubic/ft room with all hard surfaces will only allow so much in the way of sound.

To me, the true test of character of an amplifier is it's weight and the true test of a speaker is the Pure Direct button.:D

I'm sorry, but if it can't handle the Pure Direct button, than it's just not a MAN's speaker.:D

Hey, you know I am not afraid to blow speakers. I have had the 100's for one week and I am on a second tweeter.

I am just talking tough. When I got the speakers home, I noticed a small dent in the dust cap of one tweeter and they just swaped tweeters with me.

Some one care to fill me in on the pure direct button business? I've got one and really haven't noticed any difference. I sense that there is an underlying joke here. I'm quick like that.

Pure Direct bypasses all audio/video processing and sends a full range signal to your main left and right speakers.

What is it with Paradigm and Tweeters?

Bad luck?

You're the second person I know who had to replace the tweeter in last 3 months!

You just need better protection grilles like DefTechs.:D:eek::)

It was a dent in a dust cap....

If I wasnt so picky, I could have left it as it does nothing.

Plus, I think I did it unloading them from my car by myself. I didnt know they were that heavy until I had one lifted out the back already.

Greg blew out his old girly Paradigm woofer when he got drunk one day and set his Yamaha to Pure Direct at full blast volume.

Poor little speaker. We all felt so badly for her.:D

See, in Pure Direct, even the low frequency like 20 - 40 Hz is sent FULL BLAST to the speaker instead of the separate dedicated LFE/Subwoofer.

So unless you have a full range speaker, don't set your speakers to Pure Direct and Turn UP the volume.
