I have no issues with anyone here nor the forum since I'm a member here as well. The users and discussion here can be just as "lively" I guess you could say and it's what makes them both well traveled and active
Lively but respectful. Claims made but with with either factual data or the *This is my opinion* not opinion come fact. That is the nature both here, AVS, and HomeTheaterShack. All sights I have seen disparaged rather openly at PF. I have never seen name calling at P.E Forum, HTS, AVS, here.
I believe Cathy said it best. PF rules are conditionally applied. Some members can name call, some members can have antagonistic signature lines etc...
PF is what the moderation allows of it. For good or for bad. Same goes for any other site.
The best thing PF could do is approach Cathy as to moderating. If you ever seriously want to take the best of PF and take it to another level I would start there.
I was actually surprised I wasn't banned after the cable burn in challenge. That really upset the regulars. I assumed anything after that was 'borrowed' time.
As far a folks not liking or even hating Polk Audio products? Not a problem at all for me since there is so much out there, that you eventually find out what you like, love and otherwise. We all have different tastes and you have to be critical and really learn and hear everything possible. Our own forum is often critical of product and since we have Polk's ear, it's nice to know they're listening. For me personally, it's exactly as it should be and not just blind allegiance.
No hate for Polk products. I now have put in a 6th all Polk setup (Monitor 70's and some RTi 35's I found used for $25, CS2 center). Really great value.
I even found a PF forum member that lives a 90 second walk from me
