To be clear: we assume you are referring to the SPIDF optical connector because that's mostly likely what you mean.

To wit: everettT is correct. That connector does not support Atmos.

Curious, what make/model of tv is it? If it has standard ARC via HDMI you can get Dolby Atmos metadata via streams using Dolby Digital Plus (DD+). If you're using a bluray player for Atmos soundtracks, best to connect that to your receiver, not your tv.
