My Marantz is a vintage 2015. I don't think it has a 12 V trigger. But it does have a switched and un-switched outlet. I wonder if plugging the TT into the switched outlet on the back would solve the issue?
I agree with TLS, just plug the TT into the switched outlet, that should solve the issue (as long as you remember to shut off the AVR).

Not many AVRs have outlets anymore. I suspect too many people were plugging in their power amps and creating problems for themselves. Only low power devices should be plugged in to an AVR power outlet.

Actually kind of a dumb question I guess. If there is no power to the outlet then it cannot turn on.

Thanks everyone I will plug the TT into the switched outlet on my old Marantz, presuming it is a two-prong plug.

Most likely it is but as long as the TT plug is 2 prongs, it will work.
