I hate speakers in the rear deck of cars

Does anyone else share the same feelings?

I sit in the backseat of a car while the speakers in the rear deck are drowning out everything the front passengers are saying and when I ask them to turn it down they complain that they can barely hear it?

That is quite possibly the worst position for speakers in a car in my opinion. Anyone else?

shouldnt there be speakers up front, on the side doors?

you can also configure the car head unit to lower the volume of JUST the rear speakers. it's called "front-back balance" - it should be next to the "left-right balance" setup menu thingy

I used to be friends with an installer at a pretty high end car audio place and he always recommended a good set of speakers in the fronts and none in the rears, minus subs, due to sound clarity and quality issues (mainly in sedans as trucks/SUVS are a different story). It made sense once you heard the difference.

I like 'em.

By having them loaded by the trunk, they are able to deliver more bass than the ones mounted up front.

I think your problem is more with the inconsiderate people in the front seat than the technology involved.

Yes I share the feeling about that its like your knob head friend turns it WAY UP! Where’s it result is a thumbing earache!

Yes I realize you can adjust fade from front to back to compensate but I'm not interested in fixing the problem, just tired of dealing with it all the time.

Why don't auto manufacturers make the rear speakers in doors. They 'calibrate' (if they even do that) the sound to the front seats and that leaves the rear seat's audio experience totally crappy. As if the experience is anything but that to begin with, with a stock car stereo system.
