I got a DENON!! wanted to share my good luck

I got a denon avr2801 receiver for $80 at an asset recovery auction. I love it.... sounds really nice and smooth. Anyone have one of these in the past? I know it's an aged model, but still a denon and still built in JAPAN! yay! Love the denon setup menus and just overall ease of use, not a denon rant, but I have never had one before, just yamaha's and jvc's and the like.... can't wait to get the velodyne going. always makes for a good day to get a new toy right? take care and keep it rockin!

Great buy!!! You just cannot go wrong with it if it works, for $80.

got the velodyne sub going finally!!

I got my crazy velodyne sub fixed finally, it just needed a passive radiator speaker (had it re-foamed) and presto! has great low end response down to about 35hz!! I haven't had a chance to get the meter out or the spectrum analyzer... but I sure love the extra low end. Between the 4 main AR's and the Velodyne, the walls are coming down slowly! cheers!

Are you saying the Denon doesn't sound "pitchy"? JOD, who's an authority on receivers, says Denon sounds "pitchy" I just want to make sure someone isn't lying.
