I COULD care less?!?!?

Mistakes like that don't bother me. It's errors in logic. If someone actually does mean "I could", then it's understandable.

I still don't know why anyone would say "I could"... someone suggested sarcasm. I think it's just poor judgement of intention... or PEBCAK.

EDIT: In response to Dave's post, I actually had the opposite impression. I thought "wala" and "walla" were kind of funny (and so I thought they were intended). The funnier version, to me, and it happens a lot, is Viola!

Don't get me wrong, I think it's kind of funny too. I get a chuckle out of it maybe because we were forced to learn French up here and I know the difference between voilà and voici.

Frankly it doesn't bother me, but I was never very good at English. You would think that three years of Latin would've helped...nope.

Yeah. Our "accepted" mistakes become part of the language. Actually, there are the "prescriptivist" and "descriptivist" schools. There are even different dictionaries for them. Merriam-Webster is descriptivist, AFAIK. If you asked a prescriptivist if "irregardless" was a word, they would probably tell you that it is not.

There is always change in our language, but it just happens faster with descriptivism.

What is also funny to me is how the "spell-check" implemented on forums underline in red some words I think are spelled correctly. I barely pay any attention to the red markings.

"All your base are belong to us..."

All your Base was a translation problem (Japanese to English), and it is still quite funny today. It is technically not bad grammar, just a good example of why you don't let someone who sucks at the other language (or a piece of software) do your translating for you.

Hehe, I had it in the funny pics thread, but now it is relevant here:
