So I called yesterday and asked if it would be arriving on Monday. The guy on the phone said "Yes, it will be at the center today, but I'm not sure if it will be sent to you today." So I told him, no problem. Just let me know, so I can drive down and get it myself, as I won't be available any other day to receive the shipment.

So the guy on the phone tells me that he would call me back in 2 hours to let me know what's going on. So I wait two hours. No call. I call the shipping company back, and they're closed?

I'm suprised that the poor service level from this shipping company. I told the guy on the phone that they can't keep giving me false confirmations of when it will arrive, because I've already taken two days off work to wait for this thing.

Sigh.

So, Tuesday is here, and hopefully it'll come.

On the plus side, I picked up Halo 3 last night.

Well, the sub is in town. I got a call from the truck guy. He told me that he's in front of my house calling me and nobody is home. The funny thing is that I told the company to make sure that I get called before it is delivered because nobody is home. I can't keep taking time off to wait for this delivery. So the truck driver asks me if it's okay to leave the package at my neighbour's home. Um.. wow. I'm amazed that the incompetence of this company. I hope Sonicboomaudio reads this and moves their business else where.

So now I'm trying to arrange a time for me to be able to drive home during work hours (my boss is gonna love that), and see if they'll be there on time. (The shipping company told me that they can deliever up to 8:00pm, but now they say they can't after 6:00pm).

I'm almost wanting to just rent a truck, and pick it up from their terminal myself. YargH!!!

Sometimes it is better to just pick the stuff up yourself then arranging a time for them to be there. I had some furniture delivered once and I played phone tag with them all day try to coordinate arrival.

I agree. However, what makes me not want to pick it up is that I paid $150 for them to deliver it to me. I highly doubt I'm going to get a discount.

Well, if all goes well, I'll have the Ultra 13 tonight.

Totally sorry to hear about your woes with getting your sub. It will all be worth it in the end.

May I ask what delivery company? SonicBoom shipped mine UPS standard and it was here in 4 days (Toronto --> Calgary) (6 days after order due to a weekend), and was even one day early.

Unfortuneately, mine is still in the box, although I have taken it out about 6 times, as my HT space (shared ) is still under construction.

Good things come to those who wait my friend, but yeah, it is a real PITA

The company they used was sameday.ca. I have to say that I've never dealt with any company that was more unprofessional.

Here's the question I sent them:

Hello. The estimated time of delivery for this item is showing as Friday, September 21, 2007. As the last scan was on Septmeber 19th in Ontario, I would like to know if I should still be expecting the package on Friday. If not, what day should I expect to receive the shipment?

I will also like to know if it is possible to arrange the delivery time, as I will need to make sure someone is home to receive the package.

Please let me know via an e-mail to both of the addresses listed below.


Then the reply back was:

Hello there,

Delivery date is 21SEP07 for this shipment..

Thank you


I have tried to tell them on numerous occasions, that I will need to arrange the delivery time, yet the truck driver showed up at my house today without notice. They never called me back after saying that they would. (The guy even told me he would call me back, and I found out the time promised was after their office hours).

Oh well. If I buy from Sonicboom again, I will make sure that they use UPS, and not sameday. Maybe that company should renamed themselves to nextmonth.ca. Seems more fitting.

Sorry about the rant. It's just very frustrating.

Congrats on the new sub! Please let me know how everything is! I've got my fingers crossed that I won't get the amp issue, as it seems my luck isn't very good these days.

Okay, last update:

I decided not to wait and went to get the sub myself. That was one really heavy box. I might be in pain when I get up tomorrow.

So now I've officially joined the SVS club!

I didn't have a choice of which company to use for the shipping.
