Hi, I have a pair of DT770 Pro's (250ohm) and today received my Audioengine D1 amp in the mail, I've been using it for about 10 minutes and have noticed a slight, faint ticking in both cups when sound is being played. Although it's fine normally. Anyone know what could be causing this? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum! I don't have the answer, but I'll help you bump it. Where you placed your thread is just fine. You posted late at night, and it's still fairly early in the morning here in the U.S. and Canada. Just give it a little time. :)

What are your sources? This sounds like a digital artifact most likely. However diagnosing this at long range is going to be next to impossible.

The audioengine Faq has a note about this as being an issue with usb, either a 'conflict' with another device or a bandwidth problem.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies, but I just turned it off and back on again and it seems to have fixed itself.

Well this is weird, I'm not experiencing any popping anymore but just now for some reason I was only getting sound in the right cup of my headies. I removed the cord from the amp and plugged it into the headphone socket of my pc which it worked fine with. I then plugged it back into the amp and it's working normally again. Does anyone know why this would happen?

I really don't want to return these headphones as this is the second pair I've gotten back. I bought them on ebay, the first pair had a loose wire where the cord enters the cup so I returned them and got a new pair, I'm not sure the guy would accept another return and replace. It's been a few month since I bought them.

There is obviously a bad connection someplace, either at one of the headphones or the plug.

This is a common problem with headphones. Headphone cables are very fragile and have to be handled with extreme care.

A new cable set is available in the UK.

Note how fine a delicate the wires are, in the cable set.

It looks as if soldering skills are required to do the repair. You might want to use the Beyer service center in the US.
