Pioneer UDP-LX500 can't play
Movies via USB, check with Pioneer
That's a bad proposition

Hmm - I thought it could NOT

I asked Pioneer and not playing movies via USB!
I also asked Amazon that Pioneer sells
And there, too, recorders, not showing movies through USB

The Panasonic 820 also makes the same promises and I bought and not play!

You recommend wrong devices that you don't have, that you haven't tested!
And you're causing unnecessary expenses!

The manual clearly states that the Pioneer will play video in AVCHD format via USB - how am I recommending the wrong device? I said I would test it this evening - could I do that if I did not have one? If you doubt me, here you go:

Did you go out and buy one? How am I causing unnecessary expenses?

You asked a question - I answered based on what Pioneer says in their own manual, which they wrote. If they state differently on Amazon, who am I to argue?. Seriously, I was going to test it out this evening to help answer your question (and I was mildly curious). Now? Not so much - not really worth the hassle seeing that I don't typically carry video files on USB... Good luck though! :)

Seems fussy, and what does it do with the audio codec? HDMI is the way to go, not USB IMHO.....
I agree with regards to it being fussy and HDMI being the way to go. Researching AVCHD, it appears to use Dolby Digital compression for the audio codec, boasting a 1.5Mbps bit rate and supports up to 7.1 channels. I guess it would sound fine but that is a bit (no pun intended) beyond my two-channel knowledge base...

Nonsense
Manuel is registered for a USB + disk
And Manuel is wrong

In AVS, every person asks and claims that it does not work
forum administrator in Panasonic 820 and Pioneer 500 + 800
Eliminate him and delete the answers and its words

Why do you think every player that plays from USB now costs $ 2000+
OPPO 203 +
Cambridge Audio CXUHD 4K Universal Player
?
I bought a Panasonic 820 - which plays all movies through USB but without sound!
He does play stereo sound if there is such a soundtrack

Pioneer 500 + 800 does not play movies via USB
Even if you get answers from Amazon Pioneer, you come up with other answers

You asked a question - I answered based on what Pioneer says
NO
You answer nonsense and wrong, you have no experience in it, you copy the wrong things online!
You are also chasing me throughout this forum and answer me crap!
I'm not looking for answers from people with no experience !

Cambridge + OPPO 203 without warranty or updates and costs over $ 2000 !

If you ask such a question a sign that you have no experience and understanding!
All my movies on the network + USB
I have the right to play any movie I want
Don't need your approval or devices you are trying to sell me !!!

Playing movies over USB is just dumb!! I was surprised that Panasonic and Pioneer models had that capability...again, its an exceedingly stupid idea.
