I am selling some Kilipsch THX speakers because I need the money, will have $350-$400 next month or the month after to get replacements, I know, I know. I was leaning towards the insignia's but my woman didn't like them compared to the Klipsch duh right [btw I have the insignia's upstairs for TV viewing], so I was thinking maybe I should stick with a horn loaded tweeter, say the Hsu book shelfs that have a 6" woofer?? My Klipsch had a 94-95dB sensitivity and with a Onkyo 805 powering them, they could go to full reference volume with out break up, or if there was any it was masked buy the electrical panel that is in my home theater that always rattles at oh -10dB and up, so 95dB to 105dB+ There is a rattle.
Anyways, I like the looks of the Hsu, but looks get me and speakers no where. I don't care what they look like, but I do care what they sound like and if they can handle -6 to -4 on the Onkyo, which should be peaks around 100dB at 11ft away from the speakers I would be cool with that. My room is treated, and there are three rows of seating, but I focus most of my attention on the front three seats. Oh and I am only looking for the front three speakers, I have inwall THX select hi-fi works, that some day I will upgrade. And last my sub is a Epik Knight (15" driver).
So question time, Hsu? Something else?
