Congratulations on the new job. I'm sure that some of the things you see and hear on the job will be tough to handle. Just try to keep some perspective and try to be one of the good guys.

Then you should come and meet Montreal policemen. Known for being courteous and polite all over the world. They have meetings all the time with LA, chicago, new york, london, paris police departments.

(I couldn't give you surveys but it came from the big bosse's lips (we met him yesterday... what an awesome man)! What if you had a job, but then the same job with a boss that is close to ppl, funny and always there for you, even if he's up high in the ladder.
It would be refreshing to meet Canadian policemen ,where im from most police have lost focus, when i was a child & the police showed up on a scene their attitude was "how can i help",now days when one of our police show up on a scene their attitude is "who can i arrest & how many frivolous charges can i charge them with",its what they've been trained to do.

Ive become extremely active in the legalization of medical marijuana in my state & have since joined several other forums dealing with that issue, its amazing to me when people from places like Canada,Austrailia,Netherlands ect tell us about how their policemen treat citizens, its a whole other world in the states.

Congrats on the good job, from what little i know about Canadian law enforcement the usa could take a huge lesson from how your police go about doing business.

Cops in Canada can afford to be nice. The citizens don't use them for target practice.

If you absolutely have to shoot somebody in Montreal, make sure it's an Anglo. :D

Congratulations. :)

Thanks again for the kind words guys.

Just a quick update: my training is almost done... 1 week remains and I'm starting next saturday on the field. can't wait. I now know my post and I even found an appartment. (moving august 23rd though :()

Here's a picture from the outside (that's all I have for now). I hit the jackpot. Big 3½ with 2 patio doors, one in the back from the bedroom leading to a balcony big enough for a patio set and a bbq.

(sorry for the pics size (too lazy lol))

I have the one in the upper right corner:

lol man you guys have a good eye for those small details! Actually it's my sister's friend. I'm moving in her place.

Funny too that the owner of the building and 3 other residents are policemen as well. Street is a one way and the building besides it is a convent. Very quiet neighborhood :D

dead man posting: It's been several months since I've visited! what a shame!!

I've been so busy with my new job and all... and now my girlfriend is moving in in a month or so so there was a lot of paperwork and meetings to do for transfering her studies over to montreal colleges. And if it wasn't enough... my camera broke before I could take nice pictures. so I ran to futureshop and explained to the guy that I'm looking for a new camera cuz the one I have died for X reason. He told me: "hey Canon has a recall for this X reason! just give 'em a call!" So I did and it worked! They repaired my 5 years old camera for free! :D ...doesn't matter anyway 'cuz I bought a new Rebel XS haha. Now I have two cameras!

Other than that my job is AWESOME. It has its downtimes but gosh it's fun! Everyday is just work and listen to music/movies and take pictures. I love my new life! :p

So here it goes... the best pics I could take before my battery died:

Front:
- Energy RC-70's
- Energy RC-LCR
- Energy ESW-V10 <-- "awesomely" tight
- Yamaha RX-V1800
- SA hd-box
- PS3
- Sony KDL-46V2500

Back:
- Energy RC-R's

You can also see my computer system:
- Energy RC-10
- Energy ESW-V8
- NAD 320BEE

Warnings from the guy downstairs (which is also the block owner): 2

And finally something cool I achieved with my new Rebel XS:

Sweet! That place looks great! I'm glad that you're liking your new job. Always nice to see someone living their dream and enjoying it.

Do you know what color your walls are? I'm looking to paint some walls, and I like the red and (what appears to be) sand colors. I started painting my kitchen a color called pumpkin butter, but it's a bit too orange for me.

Thanks!

It won't be any problem at all finding that kind of bar in Montreal. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
