Are there any differences?

My setup is as follows.

Teac Reference A-H500i
B&W DM602 S1

Now I will be picking up a Teac LS800 setup soon for surround, will be using the 500i and 60s for the fronts, rest ls800 system and a legacy.

So my question is will the sub be of any use in the stereo setup? It has a 10" woofer... What kind of crossover point would be good and I assume that'd need changing for a surround movie?

Cheers

Your sub should include a crossover and then you'd feed the sub first and then the amp.

A 10" sub seems very under powered for a B&W speaker pair. Is there anyway you could get a better sub?

To be honest my room is small, the B&W's and Teac perform very well and a sub isn't needed at all. It is just it comes with the LS800 setup I've bought very cheap and would be setup for 5.1 anyway. Don't want to spend out on a better sub.

I missed point after the word crossover, have edited it now. My main questions is would the crossover need adjusting when switching between films/music ideally? And can anyone advise on frequencies?

I have my crossover set to 80Hz for the SB13 and I just leave it there. I do find that I like to bump the sub volume up a few db for movies and down a few db for music, but even settling on the middle value gives a good sound for both.

Cheers for the advice. Am I right in thinking as the sub isn't of as good quality as the rest of the components, passing through the stereo signal could decrease sound quality? Or would this not be noticeable?
