Hi guys, im new to the forum, i have a big question. First a little backgwrand. I live in Mexico and heare is hard to get the stuff you guys have at a resonable price let alone be able to audition speaker, so i have to relay on review alone. I never heard a high def set up in my life all i know from it is what i can read on line so having saide that i was able to get a hold of a pioner sp- pf52s 5.1 sistem pair to a pioneer vsx 1021 receiver and two subwoofrers, one is the oroginal pioner that came with my set up and another one is a dyton 1000 i got on amazon. I have a dedicated room that i share with my 4 year old, half and half the room dimentions are 18'4Lx4'9Wx8'10H and is ligthly threated with 10 diy 2" 6lb rockwool panels scatter on the room. i want to upgrade my subwoofers, i want to get a hsu vtf-2 mk4 or a svs pb100. My question is wich one would you go for and why? i like tje hsu for the fact that is a 12" drivers, which i think gives you better feel than a 10" and i like the fact that is tunable and can go 18 hz. All the above i gater from what ive read. I dont like the price as much, i would get from the factory but at 499 plus shipping and taxes plus the 20% the forwarding company charges im up at 717 on it. On the other hand the svs i can get it for aboute 118 usd less. i really like the HSU but do you think is a over kill? you think i will be better off with the svs give that i would ve able to tell the difference since i have heard anithing else? Do you recomend somenthing else? I like the fact that both can get sub 20 hz. I would love your imput, and thanks in advance.

With a 4 year old running around, I would go for the Hsu for the down-firing woofer. It is less likely to be tampered with then the exposed front-firing woofer on the PB1000. I think the Hsu sub will be a higher performer anyway. If you get the SVS sub, you might always wonder how much better then VTF2 would have been, so the extra money is better spent to put that thought away.

Another vote for the HSU. The VTF2 is closer to the PB2000 in performance.
