Hsu VTF-2 MK 2 troubleshooting

Hi,
For some reason, I'm getting no sound from my Hsu sub. It has worked in the past, but recently the set up is quiet, even during bass-heavy music (e.g. Massive Attack) or films (e.g. battle scenes from LOTR ROTK). All other channels of 5.1 set-up work fine. (Actually I don't know how long it's been having trouble because my wife likes to turn it down, so I may have thought the volume was down when instead it wasn't working.)

Set up is as follows:
Pioneer VSX-D912 using 5.1 (Axiom fronts and center, Klipsch surrounds)
Pioneer set to FS-CS-SS (tells receiver all speakers - front, center, surround - are "small"), SB-** (surround 'back' used for 7.1 set "off"), crossover set to 100Hz, LFE attenuator set to infinity, Subwoofer set to "YES", advanced surround set to "Movie"
VTF-2 MK 2 set to "On", crossover set to "out" and 90Hz, 1 port open, phase 0', volume ~25%, sub connected using 25' THX coaxial cable plugged into receiver's coax sub out.

If the Hsu is set to "Auto" rather than "On", the LED is red when the receiver is off and is green when receiver is on and there is a signal coming to the Hsu. This suggests to me there is no trouble with the cable/connections.

Anyone have any thoughts on what's going on?

Thanks,
D

The low frequency attenuator set to infinity sounds suspicious. You might try changing it. If you have little ones in the house they love to play with the audio system buttons and knobs. Check to be sure you have the volume knob is turned up enough. This is a long shot, but when I first got my sub it wouldn't play. I finally got in the menus and tried changes. When I switched LFE to both instead of subwoofer, the sub started working. It shouldn't make a difference but it did. You might try that.
