Which sub would be better suited for 80% movies?
HSU VTF3 MK4 or SVS PB12-NSD?

Well I was gonna go with VTF 15H but since the VTF 3 MK4 is on sale I am gonna buy the HSU 12" now and another down the road. Room is 25'x 15' x 8'

I'd go with the VTF3 between those two. Digs deeper, and will be more fun with variable tuning.

I have a Hsu VTF 3 Mk 3 and it's total overkill for my 12x16x8 room. I do appreciate the extension. You probably won't really need more sub than that. Hsu subs are good to begin with and you won't need all its power so distortion will be a non-issue.

The HSU will definitely dig a bit deeper and will have more output particularly above 30hz. I personally would go with the PB12-NSD as it has the advantage in build quality, warranty, and flatter response; it also comes in about $50 as it's on sale right now for $699 shipped. That said, you really can't go wrong with either.

Yup... just another vote for Svs...you jut can't beat their linearity as a baseline found in all their subs...JMO.
