This is undoubtedly a dumb question...but that's my job, lol...

Does the inability to have MBM-12 near-field placement negate the advantage of adding this unit to a 2 VTF-3 setup? (VTF-3's are currently hidden in opposite corners, where the WAF is at acceptable level). My room is roughly 4.5K cu.ft.

Tomorrow, if there is no way that you can use it nearfield, then the impact may not be quite as great, but it could still improve the sound quality of the system by providing wider dynamic range and lower intermodulation distortion. That said, I woudn't sweat it too much, stick with your two VTF-3's, they should be very capable in filling that room with great sound!
