HP laptop HDMI output audio res? Good/Bad??

Will this by pass the internal sound card? or is USB the only way to go?

Ideally I would go USB>Musical Fidelity V-DAC> Receiver however the V-DAC is being pinned against the Music Hall 15.2 DAC.
