Hi

First time post.

Would like your opinions on the following.

Since my son went to A&M I gave him all my HT stuff to enjoy, and I am going to upgrade with new.

After spending the last week or so reviewing products this is what I came up with

I would appreciate your opinions good or bad to advise me on my upcoming purchase.

Feel free to offer other
suggestions or differing products to consider.

My room is 13.5 by 22 feet with the rear opening up into a 28by28 2 story open atrium over my downstairs living room.

My Selection is as follows

For my engine power I chose the Denon AVR-4308CI

usa.denon.com/ProductDetails/3494.asp

For my ear ticklers the speaker setup I chose is the Axiom Epic 80 - 600 Home Theater System

axiomaudio.com/epic80_600.

For the Eye candy I chose Samsung LN52A850 52 inch Series 8 Slim 1080p LCD HDTV

amazon.com/dp/B001DW0EWI/...sl_6iymwlzbd

And for dispatching and secretarial duty's I picked me a Fuzebox.

velocitymicro.com/wizard.php?iid=167
with the one terabyte option.

Of course everything will be wired with 12 gauge stuff, UPC's will be on all electronics, and I usually run
a separate ground line to a 10 foot half inch copper ground rod in the yard.

This concludes my setup with the exception of the installation, and the setup.

I will get a blu ray player but am open to suggestions. Dont know what to get on that one yet.

I am no Audiophile or expert but I have quite a music selection, (over a terabyte of music which is one heck of a lot.)

Thank you in advance for your opinions.

Honestly, that looks like a pretty gnarly setup. The TV could be a little bigger. I've got a 52" in a smaller room than that and my wife suggested that we should have gone a size larger. There's no reason to go crazy with BD players. The Panasonic BD35 or Sony S350 will do fine. Other than that, it looks good to me.

I'm going to suggest a projector because I like them better than TVs. I have limited experience with them but I'm always more wow'd by them than TVs. Lets face it, size matters. If you're going to drop 2k+ on a TV, drop it on a projector and get 2x+ as much viewing size. That is if you can control light, which may or may not be possible with your atrium.

just 2 cents.

If some of your music collection is SACD you may want to consider the new Oppo player coming out. It will do BD, DVD & SACD all in one unit.

This is a mistake, all your grounds should go back to the house ground. If not you will have a difference in potental.

get a bigger display(tv or projector). i have a 65" and it is almost to small. and my room is smaller than yours. DLP's are very nice, unless you are super picky.
