How would you say a '90s-era Adcom amp stacks up to today's stuff?

With all the talk about Emotiva UPA's on sale, and whether separate amps are worth it, it's gotten me thinking about my old Adcom GFA-6000. It's a 5-channel amp with 100W across the front and 60W for surrounds. I picked it up for $240 and love it.

But... I wonder how it would stack up against today's amps like the UPA-7 in terms of measurements, listening impressions, etc. It would be great if Audioholics did a showdown between a new amp from today and a 15 year old Audiogon special!

Seriously, I have no life.

Is that Adcom what you are using now or in storage?
Across the board it should not be different within its design limits, 100 watts, etc. You can use the 3 amps that deliver the 100 watts if you want, perhaps in the surround channels but I would not expect any difference.

As long as it works, I'd say it stacks up exactly the same as another amp with similar specs. Amp technology is pretty straight forward.
