How to test if it's an HDMI, TV, or receiver problem

I need some help guys.

I'm having some video issues and I'm not sure if it's my receiver, TV, or the HDMI cable connecting them.

Starting a couple weeks ago, I started noticing greenish 'blocks' on the TV while watching both DVD's and satellite. They're like green boxes, always moving, always changing. They're in the background - they don't cover the whole tv, just parts of it, and they're always moving. Some days are worse than others.

I have a Denon 2807 hooked up to a Samsung HL-P5685W tv (56" DLP). My satellite & DVD are both hooked to the receiver with HDMI cables (Monster). Given that I have the same issues when either of them are playing, i've ruled out any problem with those 2 & their cables.

The receiver is connected to the TV with Monster 800 series, 6' long HDMI cable.

How do I know where the issue is? How can I check if it's the receiver, the TV, or the cable?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks

In this order:

Connect the DVD directly to the monitor using the DVD cable. If the problem goes away, it's not the monitor. If it doesn't go away, it is the monitor.

Use the DVD cable to connect the receiver to the monitor. Turn on the SAT. If the problem goes away, it's not the receiver, must be the cable. If it doesn't go away, it's the receiver.
